Saint Bonaventure Math Contest
On December 14, 2004 St. Bonaventure High School
held its 19th annual math contest for 7th and 8th graders, consisting
of five grueling rounds of tough math problems.
Pictured above is the delegation from Los Primeros Structured
School. Included in the picture are Dr. Simon, Veronica Simon,
Mira Patel, Giorgio Valenzuela, and Robert Waite. Auddy Amilao (not
pictured) also competed for LPSS.
The entire Los Primeros team
did extremely well, and as usual, we placed several team members in the
top 10 finishers. From over 60 competitors Veronica and Robert finished
in seventh and eighth place, respectively.
Well done, mathletes! Below are several more pictures from the

LPSS/Los Altos Warmup Competition
To prepare for the upcoming Chapter competition, LPSS hosted Los Altos
School's MATHCOUNTS team to a warmup competition on 12 February
2004. Competing for LPSS were Meghan Gerweth,
Brendan Hindle, Sami Kotake, Ruby Patel, Mira Patel,
Veronica Simon, Justin Staton, Tony Valliant,
and Eric Valois. Representing Los Altos were Menze
Chiong, Geoffrey Douglas, Glen Gramacki, and Stephanie Tsai.
The top three finishers for the eigth graders were Ruby, Menze, and
Tony. The top three seventh graders were Meghan, Geoffrey, and
Veronica. LPSS took home the team trophy.
